The Palm Beach Post Winter Sports Team reveal from 2021 continues with the girls’ soccer teams of schools big and small.

Boys ‘and girls’ basketball will be unveiled on Sunday.

The All County Teams is premium content available only to Palm Beach Post subscribers.

With that in mind, the Palm Beach Post is excited to recognize Palm Beach County’s top girls soccer talent last season.

Player of the year

Nicole Solis, elderly, striker, West Boca Raton

Solis scored 33 team-level goals for West Boca, added seven assists and scored 69 points in a hugely successful senior campaign for the Bulls striker. West Boca won the regional quarter-finals, finishing 14-3-1.

Trainer of the year

Rachael Grimes, Boca Raton

Grimes led the Bobcats to an undefeated regular season, district championship, and regional class 7A semifinals. In 14 games, Grimes’ Bobcats outperformed their opponents 45-7.

First team

Emma Mossey, Junior, Defense attorney, Boca Raton

Mossey scored five goals and one assist and was part of a strong defensive that only scored seven goals in 14 games. This helped the team achieve a regional quarter-final victory.

Guilianna Johnston, junior, striker, Suncoast

Johnston scored 20 goals and 15 assists during the 2020-2021 campaign for Suncoast, both team highs for the Chargers. Her offensive talent led Suncoast to the regional semifinals of class 5A.

Jada Fernandes, senior, midfielder, Boca Raton

Fernandes scored 10 goals and added eight assists, helping the Bobcats to a 10-1-3 record and a regional quarter-final win.

Julia Ziegenfuss, junior, striker, Dwyer

Ziegenfuss scored 16 goals and nine assists, both team highs for the Panthers, who won a district title and reached the regional class 7A semifinals.

Kaity Cierpik, Senior, Defender, Olympic Heights

Cierpick returned from ankle surgery in October, missing just one game, leading the Lions to an 11-5-4 record and an appearance in the district championship behind a strong defensive campaign. The Lions allowed 14 goals for the entire season and got into the state tournament of class 6A.

Lara Lanco, senior, goalkeeper, Boca Raton

Lanco was a force on the net who achieved five shutout performances and only scored seven goals for the entire season. This enabled the Bobcats to achieve a 10-1-3 record and a regional quarter-final victory.

Noa Gunther, senior, striker, West Boca Raton

Gunther scored 21 goals and 12 assists to lead a ferocious bull attack on the field. Their offensive performances led West Boca to a 14-3-1 record and a regional quarter-final victory.

Payton Stover, senior, midfielder, Park Vista

Stover scored three goals and nine assists to lead Park Vista to an appearance in the district championship and promotion to the 7A state tournament.

Rylee Schaefer, senior, striker, Palm Beach Gardens

Schäfer averaged one goal per game, scored 14 goals in 12 games and added 10 assists.

Samantha Long, sophomore, midfielder, Dwyer

Long scored nine goals and nine assists and helped the Panthers to a 10-3-3 record and a regional quarter-final victory.

Tyler Vance, junior, defender / midfielder, Wellington

The junior captain helped the Wolverines keep opposing crimes at bay this season, adding three goals to her name as Wellington rose to the Class 7A State tournament.

Player of the year

Emily Schleifer, senior, midfielder, American Heritage

Schleifer scored 11 goals and added six assists that amassed 31 points to lead the Stallions to a 14-1-1 record, including an undefeated regular season. Behind her offensive contributions and leadership role in a young, talented squad, American Heritage stepped back into the state championship for the first time in six years.

Trainer of the year

Krisztian Mikoczi, American heir

Mikoczi led the stallions to an undefeated regular season and back to the state title game, a stage American Heritage had not reached since 2015. Under his leadership, American Heritage prevailed against the opponents with 68: 11.

First team

Avenue Whipp, Junior, Defender, Somerset Canyons

Whipp led the Cougars offensive with seven goals and twelve assists and helped Somerset Canyons to a 7-6 record.

Angelina Coelho, Junior, Midfielder / Striker, Oxbridge Academy

Oxbridge reached the Class 3A regional quarter-finals after an impressive performance from Coelho, who scored eight goals and added three assists.

Avery Thompson, junior, midfielder, American Heritage

Thompson ended a successful junior year contributing eight goals and eight assists to the relentless stallions’ attack. With their efforts, American Heritage reached the state finals, finishing the 14-1-1.

Cheyenne Lam, junior, striker, American heritage

Lam scored eleven goals and eight assists in an impressive youth campaign.

Emily Peterson, senior, goalie, American heritage

Peterson and the Defense of American Heritage allowed eleven goals, with the goalkeeper’s efforts helping the stallions to a state championship game and a 14-1-1 record.

Giavanna Vastola, sophomore, defense attorney, Jupiter Christian

Scoring 10 goals and six assists, Vastola secured the team’s lead with 26 points to help the Eagles set a 10-3-1 record and a regional quarter-finals.

Hana Lohmann, sophomore, midfielder, Glades Day

Lohmann scored 33 goals and contributed nine assists in 16 games, which made up a large part of the Gators’ offensive.

Isabella Larriu, freshman, striker, American heritage

Larriu led the stallions with 21 goals and added seven templates for an outstanding youth campaign.

Lily White, freshman, midfielder / striker, Benjamin

White led the privateers with 23 goals while contributing six assists. With 52 points, White helped Benjamin to a 13: 2: 1 record and a regional quarter-final victory.

Nyela Calnek, sophomore, defense attorney, American heritage

Calnek led a defense of American heritage that allowed only 11 goals, a big reason the Stallions went 14-1-1 and advanced to the state title game.

Tyneshia Herring, senior, striker, Berean Christian

Herring scored 15 goals and added nine assists in 13 games, helping the Bulldogs to a 10-3 record and a regional quarter-final win.
