The Great American Conference named Hardings Logan Smith Volleyball Player of the Week, while Arkansas-Monticellos Katelyn Richbourg and Oklahoma Baptist Avery Hellmuth shared Defensive Player of the Week. Ruthie Forson from the southeastern state of Oklahoma received the Setter Honor.

Smith led the Lady Bisons to an 8-0 record, racking up 19 kills, 22 points, two block assists and a pair of aces to defeat Ouachita Baptist. Richbourg recorded 37 digs against Henderson State on Tuesday to hit their season high and the second highest total in the league that season. Hellmuth scored seven blocks in beating Southeastern Oklahoma State last Friday and eight blocks in beating East Central on Tuesday. Forson led the Savage Storm to its first win of the season by counting 30 assists in a three-set triumph over Southwestern Oklahoma State Tuesday.

Other nominees were Victoria Hamilton from UAM, Haylee Paladini from Arkansas Tech, Katherine Cowart from Harding, Sarah Morehead from Harding, Katie Pearson from UAM, Malia Leatherland from Oklahoma Baptist, Aleksandra Rodic from SEOSU, Grace Shehadeh from SEOSU and Kaylee Buell from SEOSU.


The GAC recently named East Central’s Tanja Bauböck and Micaela Swain Co-Offensive Player of the Week in Southwest Oklahoma State, while Elizabeth Morena was named Defender of the Week by the Bulldogs and Mollie Nance was named Goalkeeper of the Week by the Tigers.

Bauböck scored her first two career goals in the Tigers’ comeback win against Southern Nazarene on Saturday to increase East Central’s winning streak against Southern Nazarene to three. Swain won their first multi-goal game by scoring twice in the Bulldogs 3-1 win over Harding. Moreno received her second Defender of the Week award by allowing only three shots in the Bulldogs 3-1 win over Harding on Saturday. Nance scored six saves against Southern Nazarene on Saturday.

Other nominees were Jaymee Dotson and Erica Gaddie from OBU and Reyna Gonzalez from Northwestern Oklahoma State.


OBU’s David Stankovoic was named GAC / Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association’s Offensive Player of the Week, while Rogers State’s Michael Turner and Dillon Dean won the Defender and Goalkeeper Awards, respectively.

Stankovic made his first multi-goal performance by helping the Tigers come from behind and defeating Newman on Saturday. Turner led the Hillcats to a win over Southern Nazarene and scored the winning goal 4 seconds ahead of extra time. Dean claimed a replay as Goalkeeper of the Week after recording his ninth career shutout, and for the first time this spring in Rogers State’s 1-0 win over Southern Nazarene last Friday.

Other nominees were Blake Arndt from Fort Hays State, Kieran Brown and Antonio De La Torre, Zach Larkin from Rogers State, and Hagan Sanchez and Matt Day from OBU.
