The high school boys’ fall 2021 soccer season is about to begin. The first day of official training is scheduled for August 2nd, the regular season is scheduled to begin on August 16, and the state championship games are scheduled for November 19-20. Here’s a look at the region’s players to watch out for this season.

Kai Blizzard, Richlands: The senior striker was All-Area and 2-A All-State from the NC Soccer Coaches Association last season after scoring 19 goals and eight assists to bring the Wildcats to a 13-3-1 overall and move into to help you get into the NCHSAA East Regional Finals.

Garrett Boucher, Croatian: The senior defender is another returning 2A all-state player after scoring 15 goals and four assists and being a defensive leader for the Cougars en route to the 18-0 end and winning the NCHSAA 2-A title had 10 shutouts. He is also a two-time all-area player.

Tristan Duel, Dixon: The senior striker scored four goals and five assists last season to give the Bulldogs a 6-4-1.

Steven Floyd, Swansboro: The junior midfielder was all-area last season after leading the Pirates with 10 goals and six assists.

Ethan Gillette, Jacksonville: The senior midfielder was all-area last winter season after scoring four goals and four assists to give the Cardinals a 10-3 aggregate, winning the Coastal 3-A Conference title 9-1 and the Advance into the second round of the NCHSAA playoffs.

Caden Gutierrez, Jacksonville: The senior midfielder was all-area last year after scoring six goals and two assists.

Alan Guzman, Richlands: The junior midfielder returns as the Wildcats’ second top scorer after scoring two goals and seven assists last season.

Skylar Hinnant, Dixon: The senior midfielder was all-area last season after scoring five goals and three assists.

Tyler Krajacic, Swansboro: The junior striker was third in the team last season with four goals and six assists.

Danny Metcalf, Croat: The junior midfielder was all-state and all-area last season after scoring four goals and a school record of 15 assists in a single season.

Moises Navar, Jacksonville: The senior midfielder scored six goals and six assists in an all-area season last season.

David Newsham, Jacksonville: The senior midfielder was all-area last season after scoring four goals and three assists.

Alex wild garlic, white oak: The sophomore midfielder is looking to contribute more this season after scoring a goal and assist in all 11 varsity games for the Vikings last season.

Eli Simonette, Croatian: The senior striker was All-State and All-Area for the second time last season after being the Cougars’ second-best goalscorer with 15 goals and eight assists.
