With club football back in action across the country in 2021, SoccerWire is relaunching its Players That Impressed feature.

Every month, teenage soccer players who excelled in their teams are continuously highlighted. Coaches, parents and athletes are invited to submit nominations for up to two (2) players per team in any given month.

Below is a list of the players who have been impressed so far in March 2021.

Believe Johnston | Forward
IMG Academy U-14 (FL)

Took the offensive with 6 goals and two assists during IMG’s three games from March 5-7 against a trio of opponents from Florida.


Summer Fishel | Forward
FC Pride U-15 (IN)

Set both goals for Pride FC in their 2-1 ECNL win against Ohio Elite, playing one from a corner and one from a free kick.


Samantha Erbach | midfield player
Ohio Elite U-16 (OH)

The outstanding result of the ECNL scored all 3 goals against Indy Fire in a 3-0 win and the only goal in a 1-1 draw against FC Pride. She showed her versatility by scoring 2 goals with each foot and dividing the time between midfield and striker.


Ella Hamner | midfield player
FC Pride U-16 (IN)

Scored the winning goal in a 1-0 game in which both teams were heavily defended when FC Pride beat Racing Louisville FC in the ECNL game.


Emma Van Meter | goalkeeper
Riverhounds DA U-17 (PA)

She conceded a clean sheet for RDA when her team came out on top after a fast-paced ECNL game against Tennessee SC.

Michigan Jaguars U-17 (MI)

The University of Dayton’s commitment has earned a spot on their club’s Team of the Week in Michigan’s 2-1 win after a tough fight against Girls Academy’s opponent Indy Premier.


Kylie Maderski | defender
SC Wave U-17 (WI)

Supported their team’s only goal and contributed to a strong defensive performance when SC Wave drew 1-1 on their return to the Girls Academy competition.


Savannah Sabo | goalkeeper
IMG Academy U-17 (FL)

Three wins in a row behind IMG’s strong defense in wins against opponents from March 5th to 7th, including two tough 1-0 wins.

Sockers FC U-17 (IL)

Found the net three times on a successful opening weekend of the Girls Academy competition, highlighted by a bracket Minnesota Eclipse.


Zoey Lee | midfield player
IMG Academy U-17 (FL)

Providing two winning goals for IMG in highly competitive games, both of which ended 1-0. She also scored one goal and two assists in an 8-0 win over Lee County.


Jayden Sharpless | midfield player
Riverhounds DA U-19 (PA)

Scored a goal in every game on the weekend of March 6-7, which was underlined by the RDA’s 2-1 win over FC Alliance in the ECNL promotion on Saturday.

Sockers FC U-19 (IL)

Belmont University’s dedication helped their team stay undefeated in the Girls Academy game by scoring a brace in the 3-2 win over Salvo SC.

End a remarkable individual feat with a run across the field and a long shot to help Metro United beat Arlington 2-1.
